On the peak of Mt. Yongdu Park, the Busan Tower soars high against the sky. The platform offers a stunning view of the local night scene with Busan's cultural activities and the busy operations at the piers of Busan port. The Yongdu Mountain Art Exhibition Hall always keeps its doors open for visitors who wish to appreciate fine art.
The park also provides visitors with various leisure attractions. There is a beautiful hiking trail, which leads to the Busan Contemporary History Hall through a wood tunnel near the granite Literature Monuments. |

The Busan Contemporary History Hall building once housed the former Busan Branch of the Japanese Oriental Development Company (Dongyang Cheoksik Co., Ltd. in Korean). Passing this hall, you will arrive at an intersection of three streets in front of the former Mihwadang building. This intersection is, in fact, a plaza where the various programs of the Gwangbok-no Road or Gwangbok-no Festival are performed every year. This street is aptly named 'the street for the youth,' as it has undergone many transformations over the years.
With the addition of facilities for cultural events, the place is now popular with the younger generation. For instance, Gama-gol Mini Theater has moved here from Gangan-ri. There are also many art galleries, including the Tower Gallery and the Baeksan Memorial Hall. Another highlight of this site is the Baeksan Memorial Hall, which was built to commemorate Mr. An Heui-jae's contribution to the cause of independence in our country. |
