Explanation

  Marine Products Street

The Busan Marine Products Street refers to the whole area of the southern inlet, from Nampo-dong, Junggu to Nambumin-dong, Seogu, which overlaps the market of Jagalchi. Approximately 30% to 50% of marine product transactions in the country occur at this market. For this reason, the Jagalchi Festival has been held here every year since 1992 with the slogans "Oiso," "Boiso," and "Saiso".

This is the largest marine products market in Southeast Asia, and a celebrated site in Busan. Every day various fishing boats arrive, breaking through the sea mist of the early morning, to unload more than 300 kinds of fish.

These are then transported to the auction site of the Marine Products Association, and from there the fish is distributed to a number of stores selling marine products like hwae-jip and pojangmacha-jip (snack in shape of stage coach), and road stands.
