Explanation

The Jagalchi Market extends from the Dried Fish Market under the Yeongdo Bridge to the Early Dawn Market of Chungmu-dong.
Ajimae (women peddlers) originally formed this market, and they labored hard to earn the cost of living by selling raw fish and shellfish ever since the KoreanWar.

Because of their role, the words "Jagalchi Ajimae" have since been in use, and suggest their suffering. Busan citizens think that the word “Jagalchi” represents Busan and consider it its nickname since it is already well known to most Koreans.

We can proudly say that Jagalchi is our market, where the Jagalchi Ajimae, conversing in local dialect, meet to trade and mingle with tourists.

The Jagalchi Festival is held every October.
Visitors can arrive here by subway, stopping at the Jagalchi Station. After the Agricultural Department building, walk for approximately 5 minutes towards the Shindonga Market.
