'Forty steps' linking upper village of Donggwang-dong 5 ga with lower village of Jungang-dong 4 ga is very good site for memory and history education.
In Donggwang-dong there is a theme building that houses the "Forty Steps Cultural Center" on the 5th and 6th floor, the "Home of Culture" on the 3rd and 4th floor and the Donggwang-dong Administration Office on the 1st and 2nd floor. The building itself is named after the institute, the "Forty Steps Cultural Center". The building's purpose is to promote cultural consciousness on the part of the community and thereby encourage people to preserve cultural resources. We are confident that these institutes have made a considerable contribution to our society and have helped us overcome our inherent lack of cultural consciousness. As a result of our efforts in this respect, we are now able to meet the expectations of foreign and domestic tourists regarding our cultural sources and historical relics.
Built on the foundation of our cultural heritage, the institutes offer glimpses into the country's history and provide visitors with original visions for our cultural future. All three institutes are available to the public in order to foster an appreciation of our past cultural life and a positive outlook for our future lifestyle.
The "Home of Culture" institute provides a cultural space where citizens who are tired with their daily routine can relax while appreciating cultural experiences. The "Forty Steps Cultural Center" offers a similar space where adults can reminisce about their past, and where young people can make good use of various education programs and materials.
With these facilities, the “Forty Steps Cultural Center” is recommended as a must-see attraction for tourists. |
