Jung-gu(District), playing a pivotal role of Busan port as a main entrance of Korea with effects of Heaven's blessing whose ridges are linked to Young-ju chun(stream) to the east, Bosu chun(stream) to the west, the peaks of Mt. Bogbyeong ridge to its north, and a wide ocean to the south.
Mt. Yongdu, related to Mt. Bogbyeong has a prominent shape dividing east and west, and consists of some reclaimed land like Jungang-dong, Daecheong-dong, Nampo-dong, Gwangbok-dong, Donggwang-dong, and so on except for the past city hall(Mt. Yongma) as the center of district, and some residential area like Bosu-dong, Daecheong-dong, Yeongju-2Dong, Donggwang-dong Mt. Bogbyeong, Mt. Yoengsun(totally residential area at present) which are located at the foot of mountains.
Total area of the entire prefecture of Jung-gu is 2.79㎢. And living population is about 60,000.
There are 47 administrative offices including Busan Customs Headquarters and Busan Branch, Busan Local Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs etc., and 65 financial institutions, Busan telephone office, International telephone office, Fair Trade Committee, Busan Office of Korea Bank and Commercial Bank.
